Staff
Mrs. Vickie Wahrer
"Mrs. Wahrer" as she's known at Pied Piper is the Owner and Director of Pied Piper Nursery School.
She began working with her mentor Betty Hart 22 years ago. Vickie has a BA degree from the University of Maine at Orono as well as a Masters in Public Administration from Michigan State University.
Vickie has kept the enduring mantra of Betty Hart at Pied Piper Nursery School as a learn through play preschool.
Vickie and her husband Marty lived in Scarborough for 28 years and currently lives in Old Orchard Beach. She is a mother of four grown children, three daughter-in-laws, and has two grandchildren. Vickie and Marty have a black lab named Bentley and a golden retriever named Sandra.
Mrs. Kristen Beers
"Mrs. Beers" is a Registered Nurse with most of her experience in pediatrics.
She began her time at Pied Piper while taking a break from nursing. She fell in love with the staff and families and has been at Pied Piper for the past seven years.
She currently has also resumed her Nursing career at the Maine Veterans Home on a per diem basis.
Kristen enjoys meeting all the new families that come to Pied Piper and seeing them all around town. Kristen lives in Scarborough with husband Craig, three children and a dog named Maddie.
Patricia Penley
Patty, or "Mrs. Penley" as she's known by the Pied Piper kids, has a degree in child development and education. She worked for ten years at Pied Piper before working for the Scarborough School Department for 19 years, with 17 years as a kindergarten teacher.
Mrs. Penley and her husband Bill have lived in Scarborough for 37 years.
They have three grown children and five grandchildren and a black lab named Tessa. Patty has been so happy to return to her Pied Piper roots!
